That it has never happened doesn’t mean it won't. Describing what may be afoot is not to advocate it. So, view the following through military eyes: * Officers swear to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Unlike enlisted personnel, they do not swear to “obey the orders of the president of the United States.” * Top military officers can see the Constitution they are sworn to defend being trampled as American institutions and enterprises are nationalized. * They can see that Americans are increasingly alarmed that this nation, under President Barack Obama, may not even be recognizable as America by the 2012 election, in which he will surely seek continuation in office. * They can see that the economy — ravaged by deficits, taxes, unemployment, and impending inflation — is financially reliant on foreign lender governments. * They can see this president waging undeclared war on the intelligence community, without whose rigorous and independent functions the armed services are rendered blind in an ever-more hostile world overseas and at home. * They can see the dismantling of defenses against missiles targeted at this nation by avowed enemies, even as America’s troop strength is allowed to sag. * They can see the horror of major warfare erupting simultaneously in two, and possibly three, far-flung theaters before America can react in time. * They can see the nation’s safety and their own military establishments and honor placed in jeopardy as never before. So, if you are one of those observant military professionals, what do you do? Wait until this president bungles into losing the war in Afghanistan, and Pakistan’s arsenal of nuclear bombs falls into the hands of militant Islam? Wait until Israel is forced to launch air strikes on Iran’s nuclear-bomb plants, and the Middle East explodes, destabilizing or subjugating the Free World? What happens if the generals Obama sent to win the Afghan war are told by this president (who now says, “I’m not interested in victory”) that they will be denied troops they must have to win? Do they follow orders they cannot carry out, consistent with their oath of duty? Do they resign en masse? Or do they soldier on, hoping the 2010 congressional elections will reverse the situation? Do they dare gamble the national survival on such political whims? Anyone who imagines that those thoughts are not weighing heavily on the intellect and conscience of America’s military leadership is lost in a fool’s fog. Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a “family intervention,” with some form of limited, shared responsibility? Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation- builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making. Military intervention is what Obama’s exponentially accelerating agenda for “fundamental change” toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible. Unthinkable? Then think up an alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem. CZAR UPDATE: John Holdren – Science Czar Chapter 26 The inconvenient facts don't support any of Science Czar John Holdrens's or any other global warming alarmist's doomsday scenarios. Paul Hudson, climate correspondent for BBC World News, recently reported that the hottest year on record was 11years ago, and since 1998 we have not observed any increase in global temperatures. NASA data actually shows that 1936 was hottest year on record . The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and The Boston Globe, none of which are hotbeds for conservative thought have all recently reported on the lack of any global warming over the last decade. Shouldn't these facts stand as a reason to slow down and reevaluate the global warming panic and subsequent knee-jerk, economy-crushing proposals like the Cap and Trade scheme the Obama Administration is ramming through Congress and selling abroad? Due to the fact that these documented global cooling trends have had zero impact on the doomsday alarmist's legislative and regulatory efforts, one must deduct that these calls for panic are just a ploy by the left to scare otherwise reasonable individuals into believing and even promoting their radical socialist policies that would otherwise be laughed at. These doomsday scare tactics have been used by the radical left for years. Take the John Holdren for example. Marc Morano, former climate researcher and speechwriter for the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) and executive editor of the eco-news center ClimateDepot.com recently sent out an email alert that detailed past writings of Obama's Science Czar John Holdren in which he predicted a looming ice age. In his analysis of Holdren's predictions, Morano states that Holdren is “one of the original leaders of the 'alarmist' wing of the Global Warming debate — and he now promotes the notion that the current climate data points to a looming planetary overheating catastrophe of unimaginable dimensions.” Morano continues, “Holdren is a 'doom peddler' who latches onto the nightmare-scenario-du-jour — overpopulation, nuclear holocaust, global cooling, global warming (all of which he's trumpeted at various points in his career) — and then wildly exaggerates it in order to scare the public into adopting his politicized 'solutions'." The essay in question was a chapter titled “Overpopulation and the Potential for Ecocide” that Holdren co wrote with Paul Ehrlich in a 1971 book, Global Ecology: Readings Toward a Rational Strategy for Man. In the essay Holdren writes about the likelihood of a “new ice age” caused by human activity. Excerpt from Global Ecology: Readings Toward a Rational Strategy for Man, P. 76-77.:     We may be in the process of providing just such a cloud increase, and more, by adding man-made condensation nuclei to the atmosphere in the form of jet exhausts and other suitable pollutants. A final push in the cooling direction comes from man-made changes in the direct reflectivity of the earth's surface (albedo) through urbanization, deforestation, and the enlargement of deserts.     The effects of a new ice age on agriculture and the supportability of large human populations scarcely need elaboration here. Even more dramatic results are possible, however; for instance, a sudden outward slumping in the Antarctic ice cap, induced by added weight, could generate a tidal wave of proportions unprecedented in recorded history. Morano points out that as recently as 2009, our Science Czar proposed joining his two global catastrophe predictions by suggesting we intentionally inject pollutants into the upper atmosphere, using the global cooling effects of pollution to cancel out the global warming effects of pollution. Holdren later backtracked from this proposal claiming the media misconstrued it. Holdren, the Doom Peddler, then goes on to predict that anyone lucky enough to survive his predicted short-term ice age would most certainly be wiped out by the following period of global warming. Holdren writes:     If man survives the comparatively short-term threat of making the planet too cold, there is every indication he is quite capable of making it too warm not long thereafter. For the remaining major means of interference with the global heat balance is the release of energy from fossil and nuclear fuels. As pointed out previously, all this energy is ultimately degraded to heat. What are today scattered local effects of its disposition will in time, with the continued growth of population and energy consumption, give way to global warming. The present rate of increase in energy use, if continued, will bring us in about a century to the point where our heat input could have drastic global consequences. Again, the exact form such consequences might take is unknown; the melting of the icecaps with a concomitant 150 foot increase in seas level might be one of them. In his global warming prediction, Holdren dismisses the concept that the carbon dioxide emissions and the subsequent “greenhouse” effect will cause the planet to overheat. Instead he lays blame on the “release of energy from fossil and nuclear fuels.” In Holdren's view, placing limitations on greenhouse gases like those proposed in the Cap and Trade legislation being debated on Capitol Hill do not go far enough to combat his hysterical global warming predictions. In his mind the greenhouse effect is not what will ultimately doom all mankind. It is the energy we generate. Under his alarmist theory all energy including renewable energy or even nuclear energy, which produces no greenhouse gases, is a threat because all human produced energy of any kind inevitably becomes heat.
