My first response to 'Obama and the Police' was from a policeman, William H., a subscriber in Colorado. Thought you might want to read it:

Here is a contrasting story:

Officers of my department (small agency in the Denver metro area) had the honor of assisting the USSS with security for Gov. Palin in mid September. I have been on several Dig. Pro. Details and I always try to stay out of sight (I have a face for radio, not the TV news), and so, when Gov. Palin was headed out for a low-profile activity (jogging), I secured my area and moved to what I thought was an out of sight spot. When her vehicle drove past, though, it slowed down and she turned and waved at me. Nice gesture, I thought. I found out later that she had hugged my uniformed officer who was stationed in the lobby of the hotel, and told him to thank us all for keeping her and her husband safe. By their fruits you shall know them.
