Are you aware that Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y. (there's a big surprise) introduced House Joint Resolution
5 to repeal the Constitution's 22nd Amendment which prohibits a president from being elected to more
than two terms in office?

It's real.  I checked it out.

The GOOD news is that the bill has no co-sponsors (yet).  The BAD news is that anyone would even
introduce it.

Here are some links for you to do your own research:

From Gary Bauer's End of Day Report:

Mutual Respect & Shared Values?

There is a large photo on the front page of today's Washington Post of an Iranian dissenter on the
ground covering his head while government thugs beat him with their clubs. For years, analysts have told
us that there are millions of Iranians like this man who want freedom and better relations with the
United States. This weekend we saw evidence they exist as hundreds of thousands demonstrated in Tehran
and other major cities against the Ahmadinejad regime, chanting "death to the dictator." Any chance for
good relations between Iran and the U.S. and between Iran and Israel depends on the people who are being
oppressed in Iran right now eventually regaining power in their own country. But at this critical moment
for liberty, Obama, Biden and Clinton are shamefully AWOL.

The explanation for their silence is simple -- and disgusting. The Obama Administration has spent the
last 5 months reaching out to Ahmadinejad. The president publicly stated that he is not interested in
regime change in Tehran and promised a policy toward Iran based on "mutual respect." The thirst for
freedom in Iran is a complication for an administration that has already committed itself to appeasing
the tyrants in the current Iranian regime. As a result the United States' moral authority has been
absent during the Iranian election and the protests that have followed. Surely even this administration
will eventually become embarrassed as they fail to find any words to defend the only people in Iran with
whom we may have "shared values." At a bare minimum we should immediately increase radio and satellite
broadcasts into Iran and use whatever internet tools we have to reach its people.

Obama vs. Israel

So far in his five months as president, the only country President Obama has been willing to confront is
Israel, which also happens to be our only ally in the Middle East that shares our values. Obama has
demanded an end to the building of homes for Israelis in Judea and Samaria, and has insisted that
Israeli Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu endorse a Palestinian state. Netanyahu responded yesterday with
his own major speech.

He said Israel will accept a Palestinian state as long as it accepts Israel's right to exist as a Jewish
State. He made it clear Jerusalem will remain the undivided capitol of Israel. He made it clear that any
future Palestinian State must be demilitarized so that it does not turn into another launching pad for
attacks on Israeli civilians. He invited the Palestinians to turn away from hatred and war and join with
Israel to grow the economy and provide opportunities for everyone.

The reaction: Major Palestinian leaders said they will never accept Israel as a Jewish State, and they
threatened another "intifada," or terror campaign. The reaction proves that Obama was wrong yet again.
The obstacle to peace in the Middle East is not Israel or Jews in Judea. The obstacle to peace is
Palestinian hatred and Islamic extremism.

Are You Ready To Rumble?

Like the villain in a bad horror movie, socialized health care has emerged from the political grave yet
again. If you thought it had been killed when "HillaryCare" was slain in the 90s, think again. The Left
never gives up. Now, it's back with a vengeance. This time it's "ObamaCare," and the Democrats are
determined to force it through Congress. If they succeed, they will create a massive new entitlement and
government bureaucracy that will demand even more of your hard-earned tax dollars. It's a bad idea and
here are two big reasons why.

    * Cost. The Washington Post reported this weekend that some estimates of Obama's health plan are "as
high as $1.2 trillion." Faced with massive deficits, it's not entirely clear how we're supposed to pay
for it all. But one thing is guaranteed -- your taxes will go up. On Friday, news broke that House
Democrats are writing a $600 billion tax increase into their bill. That works out to a tax hike of
roughly $4,300 per taxpayer. And even though Obama aggressively campaigned against the idea, key
congressional Democrats are pushing to tax your health benefits as income.

    * Control. When the president says he wants to "reform" health care, he means he wants to reform the
current private system into a nationalized, government-run bureaucracy that will dictate to your doctor.
This is not a secret. In fact, he brags about it. That's what he means when he talks about a "public
option." It's forcing private companies to compete against the government, which runs trillion-dollar
deficits without thinking twice. Consider this excerpt from The Weekly Standard about the whole notion
of a "public option":

"At the core of this scheme is the proposed government insurance "option" -- essentially a new
insurance company run by the federal government. As President Obama put it last week, 'One of the
options in the exchange should be a public insurance option...[because] if the private insurance
companies have to compete with a public option [the government], it will keep them honest and help keep
prices down.'

"Clearly the point is to use the power of the government to impose price controls and override
state rules in order to undersell private insurers. The public plan is a gradual path to single payer
health care, aimed at moving American health care in a European or Canadian direction."

While there is a lot that could be done to "reform" health care, turning it over to the same folks
who gave us the IRS and the Post Office is not the way to go. In fact, in its efforts to "control
costs," the Post Office is seriously considering cutting back on services by ending Saturday deliveries.
That's exactly what the government would do to control the costs of your health care -- cut back on
services and deny treatment.

The good news is that the only "bipartisan" aspect of "ObamaCare" is the growing bipartisan opposition
to it. Virtually every congressional Republican is opposed to the government option idea, and at least
three Senate Democrats have stated their opposition as well. Last weekend, the Democrat chairman of the
Senate Budget Committee said, "I don't think the votes are there."

The Obama White House and its leftwing allies are getting geared up for this fight, but I believe it is
a fight we can win, and one we must win. If we fail, once Big Government forces Blue Cross and other
private insurers out of business, the only debate we will be having in the future is not whether we
should have socialized health care, but how much must we raise taxes to fund it. The Left will also use
socialized medicine to make abortion-on-demand a new "healthcare right" paid for by your tax dollars.

(Bruce at BPSF http://www.internet-grocer.net adds: The government will ALSO control everything you do
in life because everything you do affects your health; and--to cut government healthcare costs--you'll
HAVE to do everything "right", from eating to drinking to sleeping to exercising to sports to tanning to
smoking to you-name-it.  Think this through folks.  TOTAL governmental control over your life and
everything you do!)

From Gun Owners of America:

Ted Kennedy Bill Could Send Your Gun Info Into A Massive Federal Database

-- And you could be forced to spend $13,000 of your own money toward this effort!

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

At long last, Teddy Kennedy has partially revealed the health care system he wants to foist on the whole
country -- and it isn't pretty.

It won't be pretty for your pocket book ... OR FOR YOUR GUN RIGHTS!

But first, let us explain what TeddyCare is all about.

At the center of the plan is what's called a "universal mandate." What this means is that you -- and
virtually everyone in the country -- will have to buy as much health insurance as the government
demands, and that insurance plan will actually have to be approved by the government.
If you work for a small business, the business will buy the insurance on your behalf. But you may be
saddled with an enormous part of the cost. And, if the employer's contribution is too large, you will be
fired.

If you fail to buy TeddyCare, as the government orders you to do, the IRS will fine you, garnish your
wages, put a lien on your house, and, ultimately, put you in prison.

How much will you have to spend on your TeddyCare insurance? Teddy's not saying.
The portion of your paycheck that will have to be forked over to Teddy's latest social experiment will
be revealed ONLY AFTER THE MASSIVE HEALTH CARE BILL IS SIGNED INTO LAW.
This should set off alarm bells in your brain, because, for instance, the average family policy is
currently $12,700.  "So," proclaims Teddy, "everyone's going to get a subsidy to pay for this."  There's
going to be a "chicken in every pot," and no one's going to have to pay for it.

Yeah, right. If you're a welfare mother, the government will pay for your TeddyCare, and it would pay
for it -- the first time -- by taxing employer-provided health benefits of working Americans. But if
you're a "working Joe" your Kennedy-subsidy will be a microscopic fraction of the cost of your mandated
TeddyCare insurance policy.

Okay, all of this sounds ominous... but why is this a gun issue?
The answer is that TeddyCare will allow radical-left Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen
Sebelius to determine all of the fine print in every TeddyCare policy -- which you will be required to
buy under penalty of imprisonment.

Currently, as a result of the stimulus bill and a whole lot of other factors, the government is rapidly
moving in the direction of computerizing all of your most confidential medical records and putting them
into a federal database.

So remember when your son was asked by his pediatrician about your gun collection? That would be in the
federal database.

Or remember when your wife told her gynecologist that she had regularly smoked marijuana ten years ago
-- thereby potentially barring both her and you from ever owning a gun again? That would be in the
database.

Or if a military veteran complains to his psychiatrist that he's had emotional stress since coming back
to the States, that would be in the database.

Or remember when gramps was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, thereby making him a "mental defective" who
would have to relinquish his life-long gun collection? That's in there too.

And, while we are dangerously close to allowing BATFE to troll all of that information, TeddyCare would
allow Sebelius to put EVERYONE'S private data in a database with a stroke of a pen.

When we say "everyone," we don't mean quite everyone.

Teddy has conveniently excluded Washington bureaucrats from his TeddyCare mandate.

Also, Teddy and his friends in the media don't want you to hear about the details until after the bill
is passed. That's why they're trying to slam it through within the next month and a half before anyone's
had a chance to read or debate it.

In fact, the TeddyCare proposal is currently circulating around Capitol Hill without even a bill number.
ACTION:  Urge your two U.S. Senators to oppose Sen. Ted Kennedy's mandate that will result in the
registration of all your gun information.  Please use the Gun Owners Legislative Action Center to send
your Senators the pre-written e-mail message below.

----- Pre-written letter -----

Dear Senator:

At long last, Teddy Kennedy has partially revealed the health care system he wants to foist on the whole
country -- and it isn't pretty.

At the center of the TeddyCare plan is what's called a "universal mandate." What this means is that I --
and virtually everyone in the country -- will have to buy as much health insurance as the government
demands, and that insurance plan will actually have to be approved by the government.

But this is not only an issue of individual freedom; it is a gun issue.

This is because Teddycare will allow radical left Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius
to determine all of the fine print in every Teddycare policy -- which Americans will be required to buy
under penalty of imprisonment.

Currently, as a result of the stimulus bill and a whole lot of other factors, the government is rapidly
moving in the direction of computerizing all of our most confidential medical records and putting them
into a federal database.

So if a kid is asked by his pediatrician about his dad's gun collection, that would be in the federal
database.

Or if a wife told her gynecologist that she had regularly smoked marijuana ten years ago -- thereby
potentially barring both her and her husband from ever owning a gun again, that would be in the
database.

Or if a military veteran complains to his psychiatrist that he's had emotional stress since coming back
from Iraq or Afghanistan, that would be in the database.

Or when gramps was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, thereby making him a "mental defective" who would have to
relinquish his life-long gun collection, that would be in there, too.

And, while we are dangerously close to allowing BATFE to troll all of that information, TeddyCare would
allow Sebelius to put EVERYONE'S private data in a database with a stroke of a pen.

You cannot imagine how angry I, my family, and my neighbors are about this most recent fraud scheme to
cheat me out of perhaps over $10,000 for TeddyCare -- and to violate my privacy in the process.

I insist that you oppose TeddyCare -- immediately and loudly. Please do not try to shower me with
propaganda about how a mandate on how I spend my own money is somehow good for me.

Sincerely,

Maybe--at last--the Jews are awakening to the fact that the American socialist Democrats are NOT their
friends... (someday maybe Afro-Americans will ALSO awaken to this realization...)

Letter Written to Glenn Beck:

GLENN: I got a letter from a woman in Arizona. She writes an open letter to our nation's leadership:

I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential
election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views
or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views
or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or
representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There
must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that
you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask
yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major
political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?

Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close
the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not
again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with
legal immigration.

Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but
you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars.
No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our
Constitution and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.
|
Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to
pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less
government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of
with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.

Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them
investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real
estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and
investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust
them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before
taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop
protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for
people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth
that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why
?? what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in
need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local
talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead,
we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you
ever ripped off a Band?Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship.
Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's
say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try ?? please stop
manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for.
Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude
to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.

Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on
the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an
activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a
parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected
competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families,
pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal
goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society
and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from
getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in
the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law
without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to
you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you
would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should
expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did
not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot.
There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending.

From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in
these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We
want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us.

We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you
are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time
we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington. Our
president often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of
thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced
words. Stop treating us like we're morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want
done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long
because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our
lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work ,
pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at
you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too
long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who
will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will
represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of
office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the
representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the
gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will
be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when he will rise like a Phoenix from
the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are
meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is
all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not
your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are
dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If
you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of
the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political
parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save
you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You
need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will
be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by
one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because
we are coming. We the people are coming.
